Jane started Oakwood Tax Consultants on 1 October 2000 and following rapid expansion over the next three years the business metamorphasised to Oakwood Cranleigh Limited, T/A Oakwood Business Consultants in April 2004, registering for VAT in 2006.

Oakwood Applications

Jane extended the business to Oakwood Applications - to include clients looking for additional services, training for SAGE, investment advice, bookkeeping training, advice on fire regulations, health & safety, etc.

Oakwood Applications also has a 'publishing' branch, incorporating our own Web Designer, Graphic Artist and IT Consultant.

Mrs Jane O'Leary - Managing Director

Jane's background is over twenty years with the Inland Revenue in various parts of the country and in various roles, including employer compliance and status inspections as well as accounts investigations.

After a time with an independent firm of Accountants in Dorking, Jane launched Oakwood Tax Consultants in October 2000.

Jane specialises in employment law, employer compliance, status disputes etc and consequently is an expert in Employment Contracts and Contracts for Services.

Jane also heads up the Accounts team and oversees the payroll and financial side of the business.

Miss Victoria Briggs - Company Secretary - Accounts

Victoria joined the company in June 2007, having successfully completed GCSEs, a LCCI Private Secretary's Diploma and Pitman Training on Accounts, SAGE, etc. She has just finished the exams for a diploma in AAT and an NVC in Finance.

Victoria is the Company Secretary and is responsible for the Accounts and bookkeeping section of the business, specialising in SAGE and Excel.

Mr Alex Briggs - Web Designer, IT Consultant, Graphic Designer/Manager

Alex has just completed his OND in Computing and joined the Company in April 2009. He is our IT expert, providing web design to us and our clients as well. He also specialises in graphic designing (using Quark and Photoshop) for our periodical publications, brochures and adverts for us and our clients as well.

Mrs Maureen Bowkley - Office Manager, Payroll Manager

Maureen joined the Company in May 2008. She brings the role of Office Manager a wealth of experience in office administration as well as expertise in operating Payroll (using IRIS) and completing various accounting functions as well. She oversees all the administration side of Oakwood Cranleigh Limited as well as completing and issuing the Oakwood Reminder and Business Booster at regular intervals.

Mrs Jean Hunter - Part-time Administration Officer.

She is our lady who does a bit of everything without whom the office would grind to a halt.

Mrs Claire Conington - Part Time Client Information maintenance

Claire is also our audio typist wizard so if you have received a letter from us then most likely she typed it. She also acts as our Data Protection Officer.

Mr David and Mrs Hazel Lipman - Part-time Administrators and Accounts Assistants

Hazel and David are two very versatile people, undertaking basic accounts work (on Excel) and sorting out receipts etc from boxes and carrier bags! They also help out with the filing and collating publications as well.
